Winfield Lafain Hancock

Winfield Lafain Hancock, 79, passed away peacefully on March 19, 2026. A Vietnam-era United States Army veteran and retired truck driver, he was devoted to his family and was the last of his generation.

He was preceded in death by his son, Winfield Lafain Hancock Jr., as well as his parents and siblings.

He is survived by his daughter, Tabatha Woods; granddaughters, Kacey Harris, Jessica Hancock, and Melissa Hancock; great-grandchildren; special nieces, Alisha Patrick and Melissa Sanders; special nephew, Terry Hancock; and extended family.

Services will be held in Montevallo, Alabama, with military honors at Alabama National Cemetery at a later date.
