Wilburn Lee Hassell

Wilburn "Lee" Hassell, born on December 30, 1950, passed away on April 10, 2026. He was a caring and devoted man who loved his family deeply and always did his best to provide for them.

Lee loved to travel and go on family vacations, cherishing the moments spent exploring new places with those he cared about. He also found simple joy in everyday tasks, such as walking around and cleaning up the Son’s parking lot in Carbon Hill. These small acts showed his kind and thoughtful nature.

He is survived by his sisters, Andrea (John) Barck and Jeanie (Terry) Fagg; his brother, Shane Hassell; and a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family who loved him dearly. They carry on his memory and the love he shared with them.

Lee was preceded in death by his parents, Wilburn and Ruby Hassell; his brother, Michael Bill Hassell; and his sister, Mary Pierce.

A visitation will be held on April 16, 2026, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Wilson Funeral Home & On-Site Crematory located at 31404 NE 1st Ave, Carbon Hill, Alabama. Following the visitation, a funeral service will take place at 2:00 PM at the same location, with burial to follow at Smith Chapel Cemetery. 

Wilburn Lee Hassell will be remembered for his unconditional love, dedication to his family, and the quiet kindness he showed in his everyday life. He will be missed by all who knew him.
