Thomas Leroy Martin

Thomas Leroy Martin, a kind-hearted man who touched the lives of many, passed away on August 30, 2025, at the age of 77. Born on March 9, 1948, Thomas was known for his gentle spirit and warm smile that brightened every room he entered.

He leaves behind two loving brothers, Youman Martin and his wife Linda of Jasper, and Randall Martin of Arley. He is also remembered fondly by numerous nieces and nephews, and his dear friend, Dale Ganey & Sherrell Bennett and his beloved pet, Hotrod.The support and companionship of family and friends were always central to Thomas’s life; he cherished each moment spent with them.

Thomas was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Rena Fuller Martin, and his daughter, Sandra Kay Martin, both of Arley. He will also be reunited with his parents, James Andrew Jackson II and Mary Pnellar Skelton. Thomas's family extends beyond his immediate loved ones; he will join his step-siblings, Geraldine Martin, Andrew Martin, James Martin, Willie Martin, Sherrell Jackson Martin "Tupid", and Jimmy Martin, as well as his siblings, Jimmie Martin, Sherrell Jackson Martin, John Curtis Martin, Vulcan Martin, Paul Martin, Mary Elizabeth Martin, Martha Sue Martin, Barbara Martin, David Anthony Martin, and Alton Martin, in eternal rest.

A graveside service to honor his life will be held on September 2, 2025, at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Townley, Alabama, starting at 3:00 PM, with the service concluding at 4:00 PM.

Thomas Leroy Martin’s kind nature and unwavering love will remain in the hearts of all who knew him. His legacy of compassion and joy will continue to inspire those he leaves behind.
