Richard Odom

Richard Odom, affectionately known as "Rick," was born on March 27, 1958, and passed away on June 7, 2026. He was a devoted husband, loving father, and cherished "Gpa" who brought joy and laughter to those around him.

Rick was well known for his playful spirit, especially for teasing and gently aggravating the people he cared about most. Those who knew him well understood this endearing part of his personality, and it is a memory that will live on with warmth and fondness.

One of Rick's favorite activities in his later years was spending time as a chauffeur for his youngest grandchildren, driving them to and from school. This simple joy reflected his caring nature and deep love for his family.

Rick leaves behind his beloved wife, Sue Odom; his son, Jesse (Brandy) Williams; and his daughter, Nikki (Trey) Jennings. He was also a proud grandfather to Hayden Williams, Emma Williams, DJ Odom, Conor Williams, and Peyton Williams. Rick is survived by his siblings Peggy Wallace, James "J Bird" (Paula) Odom, and Cathy Richie, as well as many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Bessie Odom; father, Lloyd Odom; uncle, Fred Jones; brothers, Warren Odom and Michael Odom; and sister, Dianne Dawkins.

Rick’s family, friends, and all who knew him will remember him for his kindness, his teasing smile, and the joy he found in the simple moments spent with loved ones. He will be deeply missed but always lovingly remembered. A private family burial will be held at a later date.
