Loyd Wayne Hunter, Sr.

Loyd Wayne Hunter, Sr., born on November 26, 1953, peacefully passed away on June 3, 2026. He was a cherished member of his community and family, leaving behind a legacy of love and dedication.

Visitation will be held on June 8, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. at New Hope Baptist Church in Dora, Alabama.  Following visitation, a funeral service will take place the same day at 2:00 p.m. at New Hope Baptist Church.

Loyd is survived by his loving children: daughter Deann (Allen Holiday) Hunter, daughter Stacy Hunter, daughter Sharon Hunter, son Loyd (Ciera) Hunter, Jr., and daughter Jennifer (Brandon Taylor) Kimbrell. He also leaves behind four sisters, one brother, seven grandchildren, and ten great-grandchildren. Many extended friends and family also mourn his passing and celebrate his life.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ruby and Clarence Hunter, Sr., and his brothers, Charles Hunter, Clarence Hunter, Jr., and Ronald Hunter.

Loyd Wayne Hunter, Sr. will be remembered for the warmth he brought into the lives of those around him. His family and friends will carry his memory forward with love and respect.
