Karen McGough, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on August 16, 2026, at the age of 72. Born on December 17, 1953, Karen’s life was defined by her unwavering devotion to her family and the warmth she extended to those around her.
Karen was the cherished daughter of the late Harice P. Jordan and Imogene Jordan, and the beloved wife of Dan McGough, who preceded her in death. Karen was also preceded in passing by her grandmother, Dora Roberts, whom she remembered fondly throughout her life.
Karen’s memory and spirit live on in those who survive her: her daughter, Kate Lackey; three loving sisters, Carolyn Borden, Kathy Langston, and Rita Burton; her grandchildren, Aubrey Lackey, Atalie Lackey, and Kyson Lackey; and her nephew, John Burton. Their lives are a testament to Karen’s enduring legacy of love and support, and they will continue to honor her with the same compassion and strength that she so gracefully exhibited.
A memorial service to celebrate and remember Karen’s life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on August 29, 2026, at Wilson Funeral Home & On-Site Crematory, located at 31404 NE 1st Ave, Carbon Hill, AL 35549. Family and friends are invited to gather, remember, and find comfort in the stories and memories that Karen so lovingly created throughout her years.
Karen McGough’s legacy is carried forward by those who loved her and were blessed by her gentle, guiding presence. She will be deeply missed, but her spirit and memory will remain in the hearts of all who knew her.
