With heavy hearts and profound sorrow, we announce the passing of Jonah Evan Earl Johnson, who left this world on March 12, 2026, at the age of 29. Born on August 14, 1996, Jonah was a man whose spirit touched all who knew him—a devoted father, a beloved son, a cherished brother, and a loyal friend. His journey, though far too brief, was marked by an unwavering dedication to those he loved and a passion for life that will forever inspire.
Jonah was a proud and present father, a role he held above all else. His love for his children, Kimberly Starr Johnson and Samuel Earl Kolt Johnson, knew no bounds. They were the center of his world, and his commitment to their happiness and well-being illuminated every aspect of his life. Alongside his darling Karli Pierson, Jonah built a family filled with love, laughter, and the quiet strength of steadfast support.
A man of many talents and wide-ranging passions, Jonah was never one to shy away from hard work or adventure. Whether wielding the sawmill with skill or tending to his tractor, he found joy in the honest labor of crafting and cultivating. His hands shaped not only wood but also the lives of those around him, as he taught himself to overcome any challenge with determination and an inspiring sense of resolve.
Jonah’s love for the outdoors was a defining feature of his character. He cherished moments spent by a crackling fire or simply enjoying the peace of nature in the company of family. His spirit thrived on the thrill of the open road riding his motorcycle, the friendly competition of a pool game, the quiet patience of hunting and fishing, and the exhilaration of driving fast. These were not merely hobbies to him but expressions of a life lived fully and passionately.
His generosity knew no bounds—whether stranger or friend, Jonah's helping hand was always extended. This compassion was a cornerstone of his identity, a testament to a heart that valued kindness above all else.
Jonah’s legacy is carried on by his loving parents, Mark Johnson and Sam Rudd; his brothers, Kade Johnson and J.C. Street; his aunts, Lisa Owens and Tina Cumberland; and his uncle, Bobby Owens, and his faithful pets, Maddie Lou Johnson and Dot, whose presence brought joy and comfort to his days.
They, along with an extended family and a host of treasured friends, now hold his memory close, recalling the strength, laughter, and love he brought into their lives,
He is preceded in death by his cherished grandparents, Junior Earl "Pap" and Billie Ruth Johnson, and Dorothy Marie and Robert Owens; and his sister, Ashley Johnson.
A visitation to honor Jonah’s life will be held on March 21, 2026, from 4:00 to 5:00 p.m., followed by a funeral service from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m. Both gatherings will take place at Wilson Funeral Home & On-Site Crematory, located at 31404 NE 1st Ave in Carbon Hill, Alabama.
As we remember Jonah Evan Earl Johnson, may we be comforted by the warmth of his memory—the laughter shared by fireside, the lessons taught quietly with a sawmill’s hum, and the boundless love he poured into every relationship. Though he has departed from this earth, his spirit remains alive in the hearts of those he touched so deeply. Rest in peace, dear Jonah. Your journey here may have ended, but your light shines on forever.
