John Milton Jenkins, 72, of Jasper, Alabama, passed peacefully at home on Tuesday, February 17, 2026. Born and raised in Jasper, John dedicated 50 years of his life to the IBEW Local Union 136 in Birmingham, where he was respected for his hard work, integrity, and commitment to his fellow union members.
John was a proud veteran, an avid hunter, and a devoted fan of Alabama football and NASCAR. He cherished time spent with his family and was known for his warm heart, generosity, and love of life.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lorene Elaine Jenkins and James Milton Jenkins; and his brother, Joe Jenkins, brother-in-law, Steve Taylor and son Mark Jenkins of Jasper.
John is survived by his loving wife, Millie J. Jenkins; daughters, Jamie Nicole Jenkins and Jennifer Lynn Posey; stepson, John O’Mary; and a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren, as well as brother, James (Vicky) Jenkins and sister, Dixie Taylor.
The family will hold a celebration of life to honor and remember John, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He was deeply loved and will be forever missed by all who knew him.
Heavenly Father,
We thank you for the gift of John Milton Jenkins' life and for the love, joy, and memories he shared with family and friends. Comfort those who mourn his passing and may your peace surround them in their grief. Grant eternal rest to John and may his soul find joy and peace in your presence strengthen us to carry forward his legacy of love, dedication, and faith. AMEN
