Joe Aultman, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and cherished member of his community, passed away on April 28, 2026. Born on January 5, 1943, Joe’s life was marked by a profound devotion to his family and a deep passion for farming and working with his hands—an enduring testament to his character and values.
He shared nearly six decades of marriage with his loving wife, Dorothy Manasco Aultman. Together, they nurtured a close-knit family, including their children: Matilda Aultman Salors and her husband Tim, Darlene Aultman Walton, and Scotty Aultman with his wife Amanda. Joe’s legacy extended through his grandchildren Raygan Salors Stowe and her husband Trae, Joseph Aultman and his wife Hanna, Olivia Aultman Bailey and her husband Austin, Kassie Salors Spradlin and her husband Jackson, and Kari Walton. His family was further blessed by the presence of one great-grandson, Asa Spradlin. In addition, he was surrounded by the enduring support and affection of his siblings Jerry Wayne Aultman and his wife Millie, and Mary Sue Aultman Cordell. Beyond his immediate family, Joe was known and loved by many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and neighbors who valued his presence in their lives.
Joe was preceded in death by his parents, Willie Joseph and Mary Susan “Suzie” Aultman, as well as siblings William Raymond, Roy, Annie Lou Sanford and her husband David, Dena “Deanie” Davis and her husband James, Mildred Aultman, Jimmie Ray Aultman, and Danny Talmadge “Hoss” Aultman. Their memories live on in the hearts of those who knew him.
A visitation to honor Joe’s memory will be held on April 30, 2026, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Wilson Funeral Home & On-Site Crematory, located at 31404 NE 1st Ave, Carbon Hill, Alabama. This will be immediately followed by a funeral service beginning at 2:00 PM at the same location.
Joe Aultman’s life was one of dedication, hard work, and love. He leaves behind a legacy rooted in family and community spirit, which will continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing him. His hands may have rested, but the richness of his life’s work and the warmth of his heart will be remembered always with respect and affection.
