Obituary

Jason Gregory Chambers, 54, of Carbon Hill, Alabama, passed away on May 10, 2026, at Walker Baptist Hospital in Jasper, Alabama. Jason was surrounded by loved ones in his final moments.

Jason was born December 7th, 1971 in Jasper, Alabama. For over 30 years, he worked in construction and built a successful career as a superintendent. He spent his life not only building multi-million-dollar projects but strong friendships, lasting memories, and a family who loved him deeply. He was known as someone who worked hard, showed up for others and made an impact every where he traveled.

Outside of work, Jason truly loved the outdoors. Whether he was hunting, fishing, hiking, or camping, he was happiest outside enjoying life and making memories with his family. He had a natural way of making people laugh without even trying, and there was rarely a room that stayed quiet for long once Jason walked into it. His sense of humor, storytelling, and easygoing personality made people feel comfortable around him instantly.

Jason was a faithful member of the Cross Roads Church of Christ in Jasper, Alabama.

He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Madison and Quinton Gurganus, and his grandson, Clinton Gurganus; his son and daughter-in-law, Mason and Abby Chambers, and his grandchildren, Mava, Myles, and Ansley Chambers; his brothers and sisters-in-law, Mark and Ronda Chambers, and Jeremy and Angie Chambers; niece Brittany Mays and husband Jeffery Mays; niece Karlie Rutledge and husband Kaelan Rutledge, and their son Raelan Rutledge; niece Hanna Lynn and husband Hunter Lynn, and their son Hudson Lynn; nieces Ali and Jayla Chambers; brother-in-law and sister-in-law Josh and Angie Nicholson; and aunt Kathy Pate; along with many other family members and friends who loved him dearly.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Charity Chambers, his parents, John “Jake” and Diane Chambers and his grandparents, Noah and Eula B. Edwards.

Though his family’s hearts are heavy, they take comfort in the countless memories, laughter, lessons, and love Jason leaves behind. He lived a full life, worked hard, loved his family and friends deeply, and never missed an opportunity to make someone smile.

Services will be held Thursday, May 14, 2026, at Cross Roads Church of Christ, (4530 AL-5, Jasper, Alabama 35503). A memorial visitation for family and friends to pay their respects will be held from 3:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m., with the Celebration of Life service beginning at 4:00 p.m.
