Janis M. Peppenhorst

Mrs. Janis M. Peppenhorst, age 80, of Demopolis, Alabama, passed away at UAB Hospital in Birmingham on May 31, 2026.

Janis was a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. She was the proud owner and operator of Front Porch by the River Campground & RV Park, where she enjoyed meeting new people, welcoming visitors, and sharing her love of the outdoors.

A graveside service will be held on Friday, June 5, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Demopolis, Alabama.

Janis was preceded in death by her husband, George Peppenhorst; her son, George Jeremy Peppenhorst; her father, Frank H. Miller; her mother, Mildred Doggett Miller; her brothers, Larry Miller and Wallace Miller; and her sisters and Janet Williams.

She is survived by her daughter, Windy P. White (Robby); her grandchildren, Randall White and Brandi Overstreet; her great-grandchildren, Emma White, Maddox White, and Ella Overstreet; sister Suzanne Barger (Sonny) and a host of other loving family members and dear friends.

Honored to serve as pallbearers: Mason Williams, Riley Smith, Brady Smith, Wade Williams, Maddox White and Chatom Callaghan.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Whitfield Regional Home Health Agency for the compassionate care provided to Janis. A very special thank you is also extended to her nurse, Anna Whitaker, whose kindness, dedication, and support meant so much to Janis and her family.
