James "Buddy" Franklin

James "Buddy" Franklin, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away on June 8, 2026. Born on April 2, 1935, Buddy lived a life filled with passion for activities like golf, fishing, and football.

He was born to Charles Huey and Clara Elizabeth Franklin, who have passed before him. Buddy is survived by his wife, Marcellia Franklin, who stood by his side through the years. He is also survived by his children, including his son David Franklin. Sadly, his son James Randall Franklin predeceased him.

Buddy was a proud grandfather to Stone (Cayce) Franklin, and a loving great-grandfather to Gabriel and Elliott. He also leaves behind siblings who shared many years of memories with him: his sisters, Billie Skelton and Barbara Rosser, and his brother, Charles Franklin.

A graveside service to honor Buddy’s life will be held on June 13, 2026. The service will begin at 11:00 a.m, at Mt Philadelphia Baptist Church, located at 1885 Cordova-Gorgas Rd, Cordova, AL 35550.

Buddy will be remembered for the simple joys he cherished and the family he loved deeply. His presence will be missed by all who knew him, but his memory will live on in the hearts of those he leaves behind.
