James Kenneth Boyd Sr.

James Kenneth Boyd Sr., 80, of Jasper, AL passed away peacefully at home with family on Saturday January 29, 2022. Ken was born in Jasper, AL February 15, 1941 to parents, Curt and Jessie Cottrell Boyd, growing up in Cordova, AL. Ken Honorably served his country in the U.S. Navy attaining rank of MM3 (E-4) from 1959 – 1965, including time as an engineer above the USS Coral Sea from 1959 through 1962. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 49 years, the late Mildred Louise Hawkins Boyd; brothers Truman Boyd and Frank Boyd, and a sister Faye Boyd Myers. "Ken" is survived by his son, James "Doogan" (Kim) Boyd of Chattanooga, TN; daughter Michelle (David) Pearson of Jasper, AL; grandchildren Courtney Michelle (Grady IV) Wright of Shelbyville, TN, James Doogan Boyd of Chattanooga, TN, and Mary Alice Pearson of Jasper, AL; sister Audrey Boyd Braden of Meridianville, AL, and brother Terrell Boyd of Cordova, AL. A time and location for family and close friends of the family to remember, celebrate and honor his life will be scheduled at a later date. Grave site ceremony will be private.
