Hoite Yates

Hoite Yates passed away on October 3, 2026, at the age of 92. He was born on August 6, 1934. He lived a long life and will be remembered with love by those who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Christine Yates; his daughter, Darlene Moon; his granddaughter, Shannon Moon; his mother, Tomer Yates; his father, Do Yates; and his sister, Edith Lyons.

He is survived by his nephew, Amos Keeton, and Amos’s wife, JoAnne. He also leaves behind his granddaughter, Deb Bankston. His family continues through his great-grandchildren, Nichole Woods and her husband, Nathan, Erin Graham and Dakota Johnson, Lane Sickles, and Sarah Sickles. He is also survived by his great-great-grandchildren, Harper Woods, Tylan Robbins, Parker Robbins, Kinsley Robbins, Shannon Sickles, and Julien Sickles. May their memories of Hoite bring comfort in the days ahead and keep his presence close in their hearts.

A graveside service will be held on October 8, 2026, at 3:00 p.m. at Borden Cemetery, Gargus Lane, Cordova, Alabama 35550.

Hoite Yates will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered by his family and all who shared in his life.
