Ernest Lee Herring

Ernest Lee Herring was born on March 22, 1948, and passed away on June 1, 2026. He lived a full life and will be remembered by many who loved him.

Ernest was a devoted husband to his wife, Joanne S. Herring. Together, they shared many years filled with love and companionship. He was a proud father to his children, Lenny D. Herring and Shelley Sexton. Lenny is married to Jackie, and Shelley shares a close bond with her brothers and the rest of the family. Ernest also had a wonderful son, Doug Sexton, who is married to Lori.

Family meant a lot to Ernest, and he was blessed with siblings who remained a part of his life. His sister Bobbie (married to Zack Thomas), and brothers Eddie (married to Mary Francis Herring) and Gene (married to Teresa Herring) accompanied him through life's journey. Though some family members have passed before him – including his father H.L. Herring, mother Mildred H. Galloway, stepfather Ira C. Galloway, and siblings Lenny Herring, Sandra Herring, and Wanda H. Peagler, and granddaughter, Cynthia Lee Herring – their memories remain close to all who knew Ernest.

Ernest's legacy continues through his grandchildren: Matt Herring (married to Sarah), Madison Sexton, Amber (married to Jacob) Dollar, and Mackenzie Sexton. He also took great joy in his great-grandchildren, Elizabeth Herring and Maelynn Herring. These loving family ties reflect the depth of Ernest’s life and the warmth he gave to those around him.

In remembering Ernest Lee Herring, we honor a man whose life touched many. He is survived by family who will carry forward his memory with love and respect. Though he has left this world, the mark he made on his family and friends endures.
