It is with deep respect and heartfelt sorrow that we announce the passing of Douglas Anthony Odom, a cherished member of his community and beloved family. Born on August 3, 1957, in Detroit, Michigan, Douglas left us peacefully at his residence on May 17, 2026.
Douglas was a man marked by his dedication, warmth, and unwavering commitment to those he loved. His life journey, which began in the vibrant city of Detroit, took him to many places and touched the hearts of many along the way. Known for his steadfast character and gentleness, he leaves behind an enduring legacy.
He is survived by his loving companion, Julie Self, who stood by his side with unwavering devotion. His family circle extends to Mandy Cain Robinson and her husband Will, Bridgette Kilgore and Tony, Josh New and Miranda, and Kayla Frazier, all of whom held a special place in his heart. Douglas also took immense pride in his grandchildren—Cameron, Aiden, Brayden, Brandon, Shelby, Eli, Adylyn, Avery, Harrison, Tucker, and Ava—who brought joy and light to his days. Additionally, the bond he shared with his grand dogs, Chopper, Layla, and Jasmine, reflected his loving and nurturing nature.
Douglas’s memory is also carried in the hearts of those who preceded him in death. He was predeceased by his grandparents, Clarence and Lois Odom; his parents, Andrew and Gladys Pellerito; and his son, Anthony Odom, and wife, Donette Odom.
