Doris Jean Hyche, born on March 11, 1939, peacefully passed away on October 14, 2025. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and friend who dedicated her life to her family and the people she cherished.
Doris had a warm and inviting personality, always loving to spend time with her family and friends. She particularly cherished the moments spent with her grandchildren, who brought her immense joy throughout her life. Doris was also a proud great-grandmother, and her legacy continues through her beloved great-grandchildren: Kaylea Ponds, Kaden Ponds, Brilee McWhorter, and Cora Lee McWhorter.
Her artistic talents were evident in her work as a talented seamstress, a skill she embraced with great passion. In addition to her crafting abilities, Doris had a keen interest in collecting and selling antiques, a hobby that showcased her appreciation for history and craftsmanship.
Doris is survived by her daughter, Sherri Garrigan Carlton; her son, Randall Garrigan (Jackie); her grandchildren: Rachelle Ponds, Tommy Simpson (Corey Scruggs), and Bailey McWhorten (Brandon); and her sister, Faye Stover.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Yancy Hyche; her mother, Arah Lee Barton; her father, Newborn Barton; her son, Alford Barton; and her grandson, Brandon Garrigan.
Doris Jean Hyche will be remembered for her kindness, the love she shared, and the beautiful memories she created with those around her. She touched many lives and her spirit will continue to shine through her family and friends.
