Charles E Sawyer

Charles E. Sawyer, 87, passed away on September 19, 2026. He was born on May 28, 1939.

Charles will be remembered as a devoted family man, a man of faith, and someone who found great joy in the outdoors. He retired from Alabama Power after years of work and was a member of Eldridge Church of Christ. He was also an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing, pastimes that brought him happiness throughout his life.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Martha Sawyer; his son, Jason Sawyer; his father, Clarence Studdard Sawyer; his mother, Mary Frances Studdard Sawyer; and his brother, Wayne Sawyer.

Charles leaves behind a loving family who will carry his memory forward. He is survived by his sons, Jeff Sawyer and Jeremy Sawyer. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Spencer Sawyer and his wife, Erica, Chandler Sawyer and his wife, Chloe, Parker Sawyer and his wife, Bailey, and Preston Sawyer. His family also includes his great-grandchildren, Charlie Sawyer, Hayes Sawyer, Drake Sawyer, Olive Sawyer, Miley Jo Sawyer, and Beau Sawyer. Their lives stand as a lasting part of his legacy, and he will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Visitation will be held on September 22, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. at Eldridge Church of Christ, 54115 AL-13, Eldridge, Alabama 35554. A Celebration of Life will follow at 4:00 p.m. at Eldridge Church of Christ.
