Carolyn Stricklett Busbee

Carolyn Busbee, age 59 of Eldridge, passed away May 25, 2023, at her residence. Carolyn was an Alumni of Lynn High School Class of 1982, The University of Sheldon State, and The University of Alabama (Tuscaloosa), with a degree in nursing (R.N.) She retired from The State of Alabama Bryce Hospital in Tuscaloosa. She is preceded in death by her mother, Louise Johnson Crisp; Father, Bob Stricklett; Father-in-law, Howard Busbee; Sister, Faye Steed; Brother-in-laws, Daniel Van Wright (D.V.) and Thomas (Randy) Bridgmon; Nieces, Robin Wright Walling and Tammy Wright Jasso. Her special friend and adopted mom, Cora Haygood. She is survived by her husband, Dwight Busbee; Mother-in-law, Jacqueline Busbee; Step daughter, Christina Busbee Barrett; Brother, Donald Crisp; Sister Sheila Bridgmon-Sizemore; Brother-in-law, Keith Sizemore; as well as a host of loved nieces, nephews, and other relatives and dear friends. A period of visitation with the family will be Friday June 2, 2023, from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m., at Wilson Funeral Home in the Bob Wilson Memorial Chapel in Carbon Hill, AL. Funeral services will take place at 2:00 p.m. officiated by Rev. Marie Brown. Burial will follow at Ash Bank Cemetery in Nauvoo, AL. There will be no graveside service. Pallbearers in honor of Carolyn will be Phil Bridgmon, Jeffery Dionne, Keith Sizemore, Luke Wright, Cody Tidwell, and Chris Bridgmon. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital in memory of Carolyn Stricklett Busbee.
