Anita Gail Powell

Anita Gail Powell, born on February 11, 1953, passed away peacefully on November 24, 2025. She was a beloved wife, mother, sister, and friend who touched the lives of many with her warmth and kindness.

Anita is survived by her loving husband Harold Powell; her son William Vanderver; her daughter Tammy Anderson; her sister Linda Vanderver; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. Her family will forever remember her for the joy she brought into their lives.

She was preceded in death by her parents, James Lawrence and Lucinda Juanita Pugh; her brother James Denny Pugh; her sister Judy Carol Sims; and her son Jeffrey Scott Powell. Each of them held a special place in Anita's heart, and she cherished the memories they shared.

Anita had a vibrant personality and was known for her love of reading and playing games on her phone. Her interests and hobbies brought her much happiness and were a source of enjoyment very much shared with her family and friends.

A visitation will be held on November 29, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Wilson Funeral Home & On-Site Crematory, located at 31404 NE 1st Ave, Carbon Hill, AL 35549. Following the visitation, a funeral service will take place from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the same location.
