Angela Denise Wright

Angela ‘Angie’ D. Wright found peace on July 25th at the age of 58. She passed away at home surrounded by her loving family, following a prolonged battle with illness.

Angie devoted her life to the education of children, both as a school Teacher and Principal. Her lifelong passion for education followed her from childhood, and she worked tirelessly to instill that same love of reading and language into all of her pupils. Later in life, she developed a keen interest in agriculture, and founded a small farm at her home in Eastern Kentucky. She loved life in all its forms.

She has gone to be reunited in Heaven with her mother Betty and father James Stephens; her aunt and uncle Laura and Virgil Copas; her aunt Charlotte Green; uncle Jeff Stephens and his son Jason; aunt and uncle Rose and Rodger Mullins, and their daughter Kim; and her grandmother Rose Stephens.

She is survived by her son Alex Holmes; her sister Janeena and brother-in-law Mike Zalipski, and their children Josh, Ethan, and Bob; her brother James ‘Jimmy’ Stephens, and his children Anna and Jamie; and by so many more beloved friends and family members than can be listed here, as well as the countless now-grown children whose lives she touched.

Funeral services will be held at Wilson Funeral Home in Carbon Hill, Alabama on Friday, July 31st at 2:00 PM. Visitation will begin at 1:00 PM. Anyone who loved Angie is invited to attend.

In lieu of flowers, we encourage you to honor Angie’s legacy by donating your time or unneeded books to a local library, or children’s literacy program.
