Andrea Barck, born on September 4, 1962, peacefully passed away on May 11, 2026. She was a beloved wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and friend whose presence enriched the lives of all who knew her. Andrea’s devotion to her family and her gentle spirit were hallmarks of her life, and she will be deeply missed by many.
Andrea was a woman of warmth and creativity. She cherished spending time in her garden, nurturing the flowers that brought her peace and joy. An accomplished artist, she delighted in painting statues, capturing the delicate beauty of each piece. Her love for the outdoors extended beyond her garden as she enjoyed vacations and visiting the beach, where she found solace and inspiration.
Above all else, Andrea’s proudest accomplishment was her unwavering dedication to her family. She loved her family dearly and cared for them with all her heart, consistently striving to support and nurture those closest to her. Her enduring care was a testament to her generous and loving nature.
Andrea is survived by her husband, John Barck; her son, Benjamin Hooper, and his wife Brenda; her daughter, Rachel Cobb, and her husband Antoine; her sister, Jeanie Fagg and her husband Terry; and her brother, Shane Hassell. She was also a cherished grandmother to Victoria Hooper, Abigail Hooper, Elizabeth Hooper, Ryan Hooper, Raleigh Brown, Wesley Barck, and Chandler Young. Additionally, she leaves behind her stepson, Jay Barck, and her beloved pet dog, Moe. Andrea was fortunate to have a wide circle of extended family and friends who loved and supported her throughout her life.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Wilburn and Ruby Hassell; her brothers, Bill Hassell and Wilburn "Lee" Hassell; her sister, Mary Pierce; her son, Andrew Joel Hooper; her granddaughter, Gracee Young; and her mother-in-law, Faye Law.
The family will hold a visitation on May 16, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Wilson Funeral Home & On-Site Crematory, located at 31404 NE 1st Ave, Carbon Hill, Alabama. Following the visitation, a funeral service will take place on the same day at 11:00 a.m. at the same location.
Andrea Barck lived a life marked by love, creativity, and devotion. Her memory will forever remain a treasured part of those who knew her. May she rest in peace.
